What is sprayed concrete infill and overlay?
A sprayed concrete overlay is the application of concrete (preceded by preparations works such as jet washing and steel fixing) to the exposed pile surfaces, to offer anything from temporary stabilisation of the pile cusps, to prevent erosion or degradation, to a full structural reinforced concrete wall.
A sprayed concrete overlay offers an economic alternative to a single sided shutter system and can be adapted to offer any, or all, of the following options:
- Mass infill of pile cusps for temporary or permanent stabilisation
- As sprayed overlay to follow contours of piling
- As sprayed finish to cover front face of piling
- Screed finish to line and level
- Cut and flash finish to line and level
- Wood or steel float finish to line and level
- Additional hydrophilic strip / water bars
- Geotextile drainage systems
