Essential stabilisation works have now been completed at Dysart Harbour in Kirkcaldy helping protect the historic waterfront from ongoing coastal erosion.

The project involved the application of sprayed concrete to reinforce the ageing rock face overlooking the harbour. Due to the challenging marine environment, a specialist fibre reinforced sprayed concrete solution was required to with stand tidal washout and harsh coastal conditions.

To meet these demands, Sikacrete 801 was selected for its fast-setting properties and fibre content, providing enhanced durability and stability in a tidal environment.

The completed works will help preserve the integrity of the harbour frontage improving the long term resilience against coastal weathering.
