Haverfordwest Castle, a 12th century fortress required cliff stabilisation to protect its historic structure.

The solution was to apply sprayed concrete to failing areas, providing long term stability. The main challenge was access; the tallest section was 5.80 metres high, with only a narrow base area available.

Our client installed all rock dowels and mesh before the sprayed concrete could begin.

The spray team used rope access which proved far more practical than erecting scaffolding in a restricted space.

In critical zones sprayed concrete was reinforced with steel fibres for added strength.

The project ensured stability, safety and preservation of this important heritage site for years to come.
